More Than Words Can Say (album)
More Than Words Can Say is the debut studio album by the American rock band Alias, released in 1990 by EMI. The album is best known for its power ballad, "More Than Words Can Say," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The album features a blend of hard rock and melodic rock elements, characteristic of the late 1980s and early 1990s rock scene. In addition to the title track, other songs on the album include "Waiting for Your Love," "Haunted Heart," and "After All the Love Is Gone." The band consisted of vocalist Freddy Curci, guitarist Steve DeMarchi (both formerly of Sheriff), bassist Marco Delisi, keyboardist Robert O'Hearn, and drummer Michael Derosier (formerly of Heart).
More Than Words Can Say achieved platinum status in the United States, signifying sales of over one million copies. While the album achieved commercial success primarily due to the popularity of its title track, it is also regarded as a representative example of the power ballad genre during its peak. The album helped launch Alias into mainstream recognition, albeit briefly, as the band did not release a follow-up album until much later in their career.
