Septentrion (album)
Septentrion is the sixth studio album by the Canadian black metal band, Akitsa. It was released in 2010 on Hospital Productions. The album title, "Septentrion," is an archaic or poetic word for "north," derived from the Latin septentriones (seven stars, referring to the constellation Ursa Major, which points north). Musically, Septentrion is characteristic of Akitsa's raw and minimalist approach to black metal, incorporating elements of noise and industrial music. Lyrically, the album maintains the band's focus on themes of misanthropy, nature, and anti-modernism. The album's production is deliberately lo-fi, contributing to its harsh and uncompromising sound.
