Jackie Lee (Irish singer)

Jackie Lee (born Jacqueline Flood, County Kildare, Ireland) is an Irish singer who achieved fame in the UK during the 1960s with a string of pop singles.

Lee's career began with appearances on Irish television and in local bands. She relocated to London in the early 1960s, seeking to further her musical career. She was signed to Philips Records and released several singles, many of which became popular in the UK charts.

Some of her most well-known songs include "White Horses" (1968), the theme tune to the popular children's television series of the same name, and "Rupert" (1971), the theme tune to the Rupert Bear cartoon series. While "White Horses" is arguably her most recognizable recording, she had other chart successes, including "I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman" (1967) as a session vocalist on the backing vocals and the single "Wouldn't It Be Better" charting in the UK Top 20 in 1966.

Lee continued to record and perform throughout the 1970s and beyond. Her music is often associated with the British pop sound of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
