Michael Peter (rower)

Michael Peter (born 27 January 1949) is a German rower who competed for East Germany.

He won a gold medal at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich in the coxless four event. The crew consisted of Frank Forberger, Frank Rühle, Dieter Grahn, and Peter. They were coached by Reinhold Batsche.

Peter also won a gold medal at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City in the coxless four event. On that occasion, the crew comprised Frank Forberger, Frank Rühle, Dieter Grahn, and Peter.

He represented SC DHfK Leipzig.
