Budhal (tribe)

The Budhal are a Rajput clan or tribe found primarily in the Pothohar Plateau region of Punjab, Pakistan, particularly in the districts of Rawalpindi, Chakwal, and Jhelum. They are considered to be part of the larger Janjua Rajput tribal grouping.

Historically, the Budhal held considerable land and influence in their areas of settlement. They traditionally practiced agriculture and served in the military. Like other Rajput clans, they trace their lineage back to ancient warrior castes.

The Budhal adhere to the Sunni sect of Islam. Social organization within the Budhal community is often structured around kinship and lineage. Inter-clan marriages within the broader Janjua Rajput network are common.

Further research is necessary to ascertain more specific details regarding their cultural practices, historical figures, and contemporary social and economic standing.
