Megan Walsh (footballer)
Megan Walsh (born 12 November 1994) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for West Ham United in the Women's Super League and for the Republic of Ireland national team.
Walsh was born in Bromsgrove, England and is eligible to represent the Republic of Ireland through her maternal grandmother.
Club Career
Walsh began her career with Aston Villa's Centre of Excellence. She progressed through the youth ranks and played for the senior team. In 2015, she signed for Notts County. Following Notts County's folding shortly before the start of the 2017-18 season, Walsh signed for Yeovil Town Ladies. In 2018, she moved to Brighton & Hove Albion. In July 2023, she signed for West Ham United.
International Career
Walsh initially represented England at youth international levels, playing for the U17, U19, and U23 teams. In 2021, she switched her international allegiance to the Republic of Ireland. She made her senior debut for Ireland in a friendly match against Australia in September 2021. Walsh was part of the Irish squad that qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, playing in the tournament.
