George Warren (priest)

George Warren (1834 – 1919) was a Church of England priest and academic. He served as the Archdeacon of Bangor from 1893 until his death.

Warren was educated at Jesus College, Cambridge, graduating with a BA in 1857. He was ordained a deacon in 1857 and a priest in 1858. His early career involved curacies in various parishes before he became a vicar in 1869.

Throughout his career, Warren was also heavily involved in education. He was a Fellow of Jesus College, Cambridge, and served as its Vice-Master for a period. He was also a Select Preacher at Cambridge University.

Warren's work as Archdeacon of Bangor placed him in a position of considerable authority within the Diocese of Bangor. He was responsible for assisting the Bishop in the administration of the diocese and the oversight of its clergy. He remained in this role until his death in 1919, serving for over 25 years. He was a notable figure in the religious and academic life of his time.
