Ovčinja
Ovčinja is a small village located in the Belgrade municipality of Palilula, Serbia. It is situated in the Banat region, northeast of the city center. The village is primarily agricultural, with a focus on farming and livestock breeding, particularly sheep raising, which likely contributes to the origin of its name (the Serbian word "ovca" means sheep). Ovčinja is relatively isolated from the main urban areas of Belgrade, retaining a rural character. While limited detailed historical information is readily available, Ovčinja likely shares much of its history with the broader Banat region and has been inhabited for centuries. Its proximity to Belgrade offers residents a combination of rural living with access to the services and opportunities of a major city.
