Tony Bird (footballer, born 1974)

Tony Bird (born 29 August 1974) is a former Welsh professional footballer. A midfielder, he played in the Football League for Cardiff City, Swansea City, and Rochdale.

Bird began his career as a trainee with Cardiff City, making his professional debut in 1993. He established himself as a regular in the Cardiff midfield, known for his work rate and tackling ability. After several seasons with the Bluebirds, he moved across South Wales to join Swansea City in 1998.

His time at Swansea was less successful, and he later moved to Rochdale. After his spell at Rochdale, he returned to Wales, playing in the Welsh Premier League for several clubs, including Llanelli and Carmarthen Town. He later pursued a career outside of professional football.
