Ambotaka

Ambotaka is a town and commune in Madagascar. It is located in the district of Befandriana-Nord, which is a part of the Sofia Region, within the province of Mahajanga. The commune lies approximately 40 kilometers north of Befandriana-Nord along Route Nationale 6.

Ambotaka is primarily an agricultural area, with rice farming being a significant activity due to the presence of alluvial plains. The local economy is largely dependent on agriculture and livestock rearing. The inhabitants are predominantly of the Tsimihety ethnic group.

Due to its location in a relatively remote region of Madagascar, Ambotaka experiences challenges related to infrastructure and access to basic services such as healthcare and education.
