Janus Stark (band)
Janus Stark is a British punk rock band formed in 1998 by Gizz Butt, formerly of The Prodigy. The band is named after a British comic book character of the same name, a Victorian escapologist.
Initially formed as a solo project for Butt, it quickly expanded into a full band. Janus Stark's music is characterized by its melodic punk sensibilities, drawing influences from bands such as The Damned and The Ruts, while incorporating elements of metal and hardcore punk.
The band's original lineup featured Gizz Butt on vocals and guitar, Alan Green on bass, and Rich Brook on drums. Later line-up changes saw the inclusion of other musicians over the years.
Janus Stark released their debut album, "Great Adventure Cigar," in 1998 on Earache Records. The album received positive reviews for its energetic sound and catchy songwriting.
