May Pang
May Pang (born October 24, 1950) is an American former music business executive. She is best known for her 18-month relationship with John Lennon, often referred to as Lennon's "Lost Weekend," which lasted from 1973 to 1975.
Pang began her career at Apple Records, working as a personal assistant for John Lennon and Yoko Ono. In 1973, Ono reportedly encouraged Pang to have an affair with Lennon, a situation that resulted in a romantic relationship between Pang and Lennon. During this period, Lennon produced Harry Nilsson's album Pussy Cats and worked on several other musical projects, including collaborations with Mick Jagger, David Bowie, and Elton John. Pang is credited with helping to reconcile Lennon with his son Julian during this time.
After the relationship ended in 1975, Lennon returned to Yoko Ono. Pang went on to work for United Artists Records and later Geffen Records. She has authored two books about her relationship with John Lennon: Loving John (1983) and Instamatic Karma (2008), which include photographs and personal anecdotes from her time with him. She has also been involved in various documentaries and biographical films about Lennon.
