Matthew Mahoney (footballer)

Matthew Mahoney is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by Brisbane with pick number 33 in the 2007 AFL Draft.

Mahoney played as a key defender. He made his AFL debut in Round 6, 2008, against the Western Bulldogs. He played intermittently for the Lions between 2008 and 2012. In 2012, he was delisted by the Brisbane Lions. Following his delisting, he returned to playing football at a local level in Queensland.
