Dave Collins (baseball)

Dave Collins (born October 20, 1952) is a former Major League Baseball player. He played primarily as a center fielder and second baseman during a 16-year career spanning from 1975 to 1990.

Collins was known for his speed and base-stealing ability. He played for several teams, including the California Angels, Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics, Detroit Tigers, and St. Louis Cardinals.

His best seasons came with the Cincinnati Reds in the late 1970s, where he was part of the "Big Red Machine" era. He was a key contributor to their National League pennants in 1979 and 1981. Collins recorded a career high in stolen bases in 1984 with the Toronto Blue Jays. After his playing career, Collins worked as a coach.
