Carmel (band)

Carmel is a British jazz-pop band formed in Hull, England in 1981. The band consists of Carmel McCourt (vocals, piano), Jim Parris (double bass, bass guitar) and Gerry Darby (drums, percussion).

Carmel is best known for their hit singles "Bad Day" (1983) and "More, More, More" (1984), both of which achieved significant chart success across Europe. Their music blends elements of jazz, blues, soul, and pop. McCourt's distinctive, powerful vocals are a defining characteristic of the band's sound.

The band has released numerous albums throughout their career, exploring themes of love, loss, and social commentary.
