Matt Anderson (baseball)

Matt Anderson is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1998 to 2005 for the Detroit Tigers, Colorado Rockies, and Kansas City Royals. Anderson was known for his hard fastball, which occasionally reached triple digits.

He was drafted first overall by the Detroit Tigers in the 1997 MLB draft. Expectations were high for Anderson, but injuries derailed his career. He made his MLB debut in 1998. While he showed flashes of brilliance, he struggled with control and consistency.

Anderson underwent multiple surgeries throughout his career, primarily to address shoulder issues. These injuries limited his playing time and ultimately led to his retirement from professional baseball. After his playing career, Anderson worked as a pitching coach.
