Tiffany Jackson (basketball)

Tiffany Jackson (January 15, 1985 – October 3, 2022) was an American professional basketball player and college basketball coach. She played in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) for nine seasons.

Jackson was born in Brownfield, Texas. She was a highly touted prospect out of Duncanville High School, where she earned WBCA All-American honors.

Jackson played college basketball for the University of Texas at Austin. During her time with the Longhorns (2003-2007), she was a three-time All-Big 12 selection and a three-time All-American honorable mention. She left Texas as one of the program's all-time leading scorers and rebounders.

Jackson was drafted fifth overall by the New York Liberty in the 2007 WNBA draft. She also played for the Tulsa Shock and the Los Angeles Sparks. Her WNBA career was marked by periods of success and was interrupted by health challenges.

Following her professional playing career, Jackson transitioned into coaching. She served as an assistant coach at Texas at Austin and later became the head coach at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas.

In 2015, Jackson was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent treatment and initially recovered, returning to coaching. However, the cancer returned, and she passed away on October 3, 2022, at the age of 37. She is remembered for her contributions to women's basketball as both a player and a coach, as well as for her resilience in the face of adversity.
