Masterpiece (Just-Ice album)

Masterpiece is the second studio album by American rapper Just-Ice, released in 1990 on Fresh Records/Sleeping Bag Records. The album followed his debut, Kool & Deadly, and his second album, Just-Ice.

Masterpiece maintained Just-Ice's hard-hitting, street-oriented style, continuing his collaboration with production primarily handled by Mantronix's Mantronik and fellow producer Rockmaster Scott Sterling. Lyrically, the album covers themes of social commentary, street life, and self-aggrandizement, typical of the era's hardcore hip-hop.

While Masterpiece wasn't as commercially successful as his previous works, it is considered a solid entry in Just-Ice's discography and a noteworthy example of late 1980s/early 1990s East Coast hip-hop. It featured a continuation of his signature gruff vocal delivery and hard-edged production, although some critics noted a slight shift towards a more commercially accessible sound. The album failed to chart significantly and is considered a cult classic amongst hardcore hip-hop enthusiasts.
