Margaret Audley (FitzWarin)

Margaret Audley (FitzWarin), Baroness Audley (c. 1310 – after 1349), was an English noblewoman. She was the daughter of Sir John Audley and his wife, Joan Mortimer.

Margaret married Roger Mortimer, 3rd Baron Mortimer of Wigmore before 1337. This Roger Mortimer was not the powerful and disgraced Roger Mortimer who had been the lover of Queen Isabella and de facto ruler of England during the early years of Edward III's reign. He was a grandson of that infamous Mortimer.

Upon the death of her father in 1316, the Audley barony fell into abeyance amongst his daughters. However, in 1347, the abeyance was terminated in favour of Margaret and her younger sister, Joan Audley. Margaret's portion of the Audley inheritance and the title of Baroness Audley passed to her as the elder sister.

She married secondly to Sir John Tuchet before 1349. The exact year of her death is not definitively known, but it was sometime after her second marriage.

Her children by Roger Mortimer included:

  • Roger Mortimer, 4th Baron Mortimer
  • Sir John Mortimer

The Audley barony continued through her descendants.
