Manithan (2016 film)

Manithan is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language legal drama film directed by I. Ahmed. The film stars Udhayanidhi Stalin, Hansika Motwani, and Prakash Raj in the lead roles. It is a remake of the Hindi film Jolly LLB (2013).

The film revolves around Sakthivel (Udhayanidhi Stalin), a small-time lawyer in Pollachi who moves to Chennai seeking fame and fortune. He takes on a hit-and-run case involving a wealthy and influential industrialist's son, Krishna Kumar (Akashdeep Saigal), represented by a seasoned and powerful lawyer, Adiraj Bose (Prakash Raj). Sakthivel initially handles the case with opportunism, but witnessing the injustice and the suffering of the victim's family, he has a change of heart and decides to fight for justice.

Manithan explores themes of justice, corruption, and the power of the common man. The film received generally positive reviews, with praise for its performances, direction, and social message.
