Malovice
Malovice is a village and municipality in the Prachatice District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. The municipality covers an area of 35.46 square kilometers (13.69 sq mi), and has a population of approximately 700 (as of 2023). Malovice is located roughly 15 kilometers (9 mi) northeast of Prachatice, 29 kilometers (18 mi) west of České Budějovice, and 115 kilometers (71 mi) south of Prague. The village itself lies in a rural landscape characterized by agriculture and forestry. The first written mention of Malovice dates back to the 13th century. Its history is intertwined with that of the surrounding region of South Bohemia.
