HMS St Albans (1764)
HMS St Albans was a 64-gun third-rate ship of the line in the Royal Navy, launched in 1764. She was built at Deptford Dockyard, to a design by the Surveyor of the Navy, Sir Thomas Slade.
St Albans saw service during the American Revolutionary War, participating in the Battle of Grenada in 1779 under the command of Captain Charles Inglis, where she was part of Vice-Admiral John Byron's fleet.
In 1782, still under the command of Captain Inglis, St Albans was present at the Battle of the Saintes, a decisive British victory against the French fleet. She served in the Caribbean during this period.
Following the American Revolutionary War, St Albans remained in service and was eventually broken up in 1814.
