Ensign (band)
Ensign was an American hardcore punk band from Huntington Beach, California, active from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s. Formed in 1995, the band was known for its energetic live performances and blend of classic hardcore with elements of melodic punk and metal.
The band's lineup went through changes over the years, but typically consisted of at least: Tim Shaw (vocals), Ryan Collins (guitar), Nate Gluck (bass), and a drummer (various).
Ensign released several albums and EPs on labels such as Indecision Records, Revelation Records, and Nitro Records. Notable releases include Direction of Things to Come (1999) and The Price of Progression (2003).
The band toured extensively throughout the United States and internationally, sharing the stage with prominent hardcore and punk bands. They garnered a dedicated following within the hardcore scene.
Ensign officially disbanded in the mid-2000s. Members went on to pursue other musical projects. Despite their relatively short lifespan, Ensign is remembered for its contributions to the late 1990s and early 2000s hardcore scene.
