404th Tactical Airlift Tanker Squadron (JASDF)

The 404th Tactical Airlift Tanker Squadron is a unit of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). It operates as a component of the JASDF's air transport and aerial refueling capabilities. The squadron is primarily equipped with KC-767J aerial refueling tankers, which are modified Boeing 767 aircraft.

The 404th Squadron's primary mission is to extend the operational range and endurance of JASDF aircraft, including fighter jets, transport aircraft, and other support aircraft, through in-flight refueling.
