Father, Dear Father (film)

Father, Dear Father is a 1973 British comedy film directed by William G. Stewart and starring Patrick Cargill, Donald Sinden, and Natasha Pyne. It is a spin-off of the popular Thames Television sitcom of the same name, Father, Dear Father.

The film follows the continuing misadventures of Patrick Glover (Patrick Cargill), a successful romance novelist and confirmed bachelor, as he navigates the challenges of living with his two adult daughters, Anna (Natasha Pyne) and Georgina (Ann Holloway). He attempts to maintain a semblance of order and control in his increasingly chaotic household while also pursuing romantic interests of his own. Donald Sinden plays Richard Burke, a friendly rival of Patrick's and a source of both amusement and exasperation.

The plot revolves around Patrick's efforts to sell his house to escape the responsibilities of his family and enjoy his bachelorhood, but his daughters have other plans. The film utilizes the sitcom's familiar humor, relying on witty dialogue, situational comedy, and the clash of personalities between the characters.
