Robert Constable (died 1591)

Robert Constable (died 1591) was an English politician and landowner. He was the Member of Parliament for Scarborough in 1559, 1563 and 1571, and for Hedon in 1584 and 1586.

Constable was the eldest son of Sir Robert Constable of Everingham, Yorkshire, and his wife Christiana, daughter of Sir John Dawnay of Cowick. He inherited his father's estates in 1558.

His parliamentary career saw him represent Scarborough three times and later Hedon, both Yorkshire constituencies. Details of his activities in Parliament are scarce.

He married Margaret, daughter of Sir William Eure of Malton, with whom he had several children, including Sir Robert Constable, who served as Sheriff of Yorkshire. He died in 1591 and was succeeded by his son Robert.
