Babiczki

Babiczki (pronounced bah-BEECH-kee) is a Polish word that is the plural diminutive form of "babka." "Babka" itself translates to "grandmother" or "old woman," but in culinary terms, it also refers to a type of sweet yeast cake, traditionally baked in a tall, fluted pan. Therefore, "babiczki" refers to multiple small babka cakes. These smaller versions of the babka are often made for individual servings or as a festive treat during holidays, particularly Easter. They share the same characteristics as the larger babka, typically being rich, buttery, and often containing raisins or candied citrus.
