Bill Hawkins (cricketer)
William "Bill" Hawkins (born 20 March 1918, died 3 May 1999) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Worcestershire between 1946 and 1952.
A right-handed batsman, Hawkins made 84 first-class appearances for Worcestershire, scoring 2,547 runs at an average of 19.44, with a highest score of 78. He also took 11 catches. He was known for his solid defensive technique.
Hawkins' career was primarily post-World War II. He served in the armed forces during the war, which interrupted his cricketing development. While never a star player, Hawkins was a reliable member of the Worcestershire side during his time with the county. He retired from first-class cricket at the end of the 1952 season.
