Daniel Callaghan (politician)
Daniel Callaghan (born October 2, 1952) is a former Australian politician who served as a Labor member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1995 to 2007, representing the electorate of Wallsend. Prior to entering parliament, Callaghan worked in the transport industry and held various positions within the Transport Workers' Union. During his time in parliament, he served on a number of committees and held the position of Parliamentary Secretary. After leaving parliament, he continued to be involved in community affairs within the Wallsend area. He unsuccessfully contested the seat of Newcastle in the 2014 by-election.
