Boundin'
Boundin' is a 2003 American computer-animated short film, written and directed by Bud Luckey and produced by Pixar Animation Studios. It was released theatrically in 2003 as the opening short before the feature film The Incredibles.
The short tells the story of a sheep who is envied for his energetic bouncing and dancing, especially for his beautiful fleece. When he is sheared for the winter, he loses his confidence and enthusiasm. A friendly Jackalope teaches him that true happiness comes from within, and that he can still bound and dance without his fleece.
The film utilizes a distinct visual style, foregoing the hyper-realism of some other Pixar films in favor of a more stylized, almost illustrative appearance. Luckey also provides the voice for both the Narrator and the Jackalope, further contributing to the short's unique and folksy character.
Boundin' received generally positive reviews and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 76th Academy Awards. The short is often praised for its heartwarming message about self-acceptance and resilience in the face of adversity.
