Gourcy

Gourcy is a town located in the province of Zondoma, in the Centre-Nord Region of Burkina Faso. It is the capital of Zondoma province. Gourcy is situated approximately 140 kilometers north of Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. The primary language spoken in Gourcy is Mooré. The town serves as a commercial and administrative center for the surrounding agricultural region. Its economy is primarily based on agriculture, with crops such as millet, sorghum, and beans being cultivated. Livestock raising is also a significant economic activity. Gourcy has a market that serves the local population and surrounding villages. Access to healthcare and education are present, though often limited.
