Babbo (restaurant)
Babbo Ristorante e Enoteca is an Italian restaurant located in New York City's Greenwich Village. It was opened in 1998 by chefs Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich. The restaurant is known for its elevated takes on traditional Italian dishes, particularly pasta, and its extensive wine list. Babbo has received numerous accolades, including a Michelin star. The name "Babbo" is an Italian colloquial term for "dad" or "father." The restaurant’s initial success helped to launch Batali and Bastianich into culinary stardom and led to the opening of numerous other restaurants. While the restaurant continues to operate, Mario Batali is no longer involved in the business.
