Lost Lake (Whistler)

Lost Lake is a popular recreational lake located in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. Situated approximately a 15-minute walk north of Whistler Village, it's easily accessible by foot, bike, or car via the Valley Trail network. The lake is known for its calm, clear water and surrounding forested landscape, offering a variety of activities throughout the year.

During the summer months, Lost Lake is a popular swimming spot, with designated swimming areas and a sandy beach. Other summer activities include picnicking, sunbathing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing (with appropriate licenses). Hiking and biking trails surround the lake, offering scenic routes through the forest.

In the winter, Lost Lake transforms into a cross-country skiing and snowshoeing destination. Groomed trails are maintained around the lake, offering a variety of routes for different skill levels. Snowshoeing is also popular, allowing visitors to explore the untouched areas of the surrounding forest. Night skiing and snowshoeing are often available, offering a unique experience under the stars.

Lost Lake is managed by the Resort Municipality of Whistler and offers facilities such as washrooms, changing rooms, and a concession stand (seasonal). Parking is available near the lake, but it can be limited during peak season. The lake's proximity to Whistler Village makes it a convenient escape for both locals and tourists seeking a peaceful retreat in nature. The Lost Lake Passivhaus, a demonstration building showcasing energy-efficient construction, is also located near the lake.
