Long Look (horse)

Long Look was an American Thoroughbred racehorse foaled in 1963. He was bred and owned by Wheatley Stable and trained by Hall of Fame trainer, Allen Jerkens. Long Look is best known for his upset victory over the legendary Buckpasser in the 1966 Woodward Stakes at Aqueduct Racetrack.

While not a consistent winner of major stakes races, Long Look proved himself to be a formidable competitor in handicap races. His victory in the Woodward, against a horse considered nearly unbeatable at the time, remains his most significant achievement.

His other notable performances included placings in several prominent stakes races. Long Look's career showcased his stamina and ability to perform well at longer distances. He was retired from racing after several seasons and stood at stud. His progeny did not achieve the same level of success as their sire. Despite this, Long Look is remembered for his memorable upset win and his role in a significant moment in American racing history.
