Pineios (Thessaly)

The Pineios (also spelled Peneus) is a river in Thessaly, Greece. It is the longest river in Thessaly, flowing for approximately 205 kilometers (127 miles). The river originates in the Pindus Mountains and flows eastward through the Thessalian plain, draining into the Aegean Sea northeast of Tempe.
