Liz Harris (Arizona politician)

Liz Harris is an American politician and real estate agent from Arizona. She served as a Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives for Legislative District 13 in 2023.

Harris gained significant attention due to her controversial claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election. Shortly after being sworn in, she presented unverified allegations at a legislative hearing, accusing numerous individuals and organizations of involvement in a conspiracy to manipulate election results. These claims were widely disputed and lacked credible evidence.

Following the presentation of these allegations, a bipartisan ethics investigation was launched. The investigation concluded that Harris had engaged in disorderly behavior and violated House ethics rules by presenting false and unsubstantiated information without proper vetting.

On April 5, 2023, the Arizona House of Representatives voted to expel Harris from the chamber. The vote was largely bipartisan, with many Republicans joining Democrats in supporting the expulsion. This marked a rare instance of a member of the Arizona legislature being expelled. The expulsion stemmed directly from her conduct related to the unproven election fraud claims and the ethics violations determined by the House investigation.

After her expulsion, Harris continued to publicly assert her claims of election fraud and has remained active in conservative political circles.
