Yamato Station (Kanagawa)
Yamato Station (大和駅, Yamato-eki) is a railway station in Yamato, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, operated by the private railway operators Odakyu Electric Railway and Sagami Railway (Sotetsu).
Lines
Yamato Station is served by the Odakyu Enoshima Line and the Sotetsu Main Line. It is an interchange station between these two lines.
Station Layout
The station has two island platforms serving four tracks for Odakyu, and one island platform serving two tracks for Sotetsu. The Odakyu lines are elevated, while the Sotetsu lines are at ground level. The station buildings for both operators are integrated.
History
Yamato Station opened on May 12, 1926, as a station on the Odakyu Enoshima Line. The Sotetsu Main Line began serving the station on April 1, 1929.

The area surrounding Yamato Station is a bustling commercial district with numerous shops, restaurants, and entertainment facilities. Key points of interest include the Yamato City Cultural Creation Hall Sirius, located directly adjacent to the station's east exit. Several bus routes also operate from the station plaza.
