Deira (album)
Deira is the debut studio album by the Australian deathcore band Thy Art Is Murder, released on August 6, 2010, through Halfcut Records. The album's title refers to a region of Anglo-Saxon England, specifically the Kingdom of Deira, which occupied what is now the East Riding of Yorkshire and part of North Yorkshire in England.
The album features a blend of death metal and metalcore elements, characterized by aggressive riffs, blast beats, and guttural vocals. Lyrically, the album explores themes of violence, misanthropy, and anti-religious sentiment.
Deira helped establish Thy Art Is Murder as a prominent band within the deathcore scene.
