Pound (band)

Pound is a two-piece American noise rock band formed in Miami, Florida in 2017. The band consists of Ryan Schutte on drums and Matt Harvey handling both guitar and vocals. They are known for their intense live performances and heavy, dissonant sound, often drawing comparisons to bands like The Jesus Lizard, Unsane, and Shellac.

Pound's music is characterized by its unorthodox song structures, angular guitar riffs, and aggressive, shouted vocals. Schutte's drumming is a key element, providing a powerful and often frantic rhythmic foundation. The band self-released their debut album, /// (Triple Slash), in 2019, followed by ///(again) in 2020. They signed with the independent label Nefarious Industries and released their third album, Cleanliness., in 2022. Their music explores themes of anxiety, frustration, and societal decay. Pound has toured extensively throughout the United States, building a dedicated following through their energetic and uncompromising approach.
