Paulo César (footballer, born 1979)
Paulo César, full name Paulo César Fonseca do Nascimento, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Born on January 13, 1979, in Itabuna, Bahia, Brazil, he is also known as Paulo César Tinga, a nickname he acquired during his playing career.
Tinga began his professional career in Brazil, playing for various clubs including Botafogo, Gama, and Fluminense. He gained prominence playing for Grêmio, winning the Campeonato Gaúcho in 1999.
His career then took him to Europe where he joined Borussia Dortmund in Germany in 2005. He played for Dortmund for a season before moving to fellow Bundesliga side Hamburger SV.
After his stint in Germany, Tinga returned to Brazil, playing for Internacional. During his time with Internacional, he achieved significant success, including winning the Copa Libertadores in 2010. He was a key player in the team's midfield.
He subsequently played for Figueirense before finishing his career at Cruzeiro, where he won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 2013 and 2014.
