Liu Hun

Liu Hun (劉渾), courtesy name Xuanmin (玄敏), was a prince of the Han Dynasty in ancient China. He was a son of Emperor Ming of Han and Consort Gong.

Liu Hun was enfeoffed as the Prince of Lecheng (樂成王) in 72 AD. He was known for his studiousness and adherence to proper conduct. He died in 79 AD. After his death, his son Liu Chong succeeded him as the Prince of Lecheng. The Lecheng principality continued until it was abolished during the reign of Emperor Xian of Han.

Information regarding his life is primarily found in the Book of the Later Han (Hou Han Shu). While not a central figure in Han Dynasty history, Liu Hun represents a typical example of a Han imperial prince and his role within the dynasty's structure. His life exemplifies the expectations placed on members of the imperial family, including the pursuit of learning and the maintenance of appropriate social behavior.
