John Bingham (Gaelic footballer)
John Bingham is a former Gaelic footballer who played for County Down. He is regarded as one of the county's greatest ever players, known for his high fielding, powerful physique, and scoring prowess. Bingham played primarily as a forward, often at full-forward, and was a key member of the Down team that won the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship in 1960 and 1961. He also won Ulster Senior Football Championship medals in those same years. His performances earned him All-Star awards, solidifying his place in Down footballing history. After his playing career ended, Bingham remained involved in Gaelic games, often contributing as a selector or coach.
