Tony Franklin (baseball)

Tony Franklin (born July 12, 1956) is a former professional baseball player. He was primarily a second baseman who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for several teams from 1979 to 1986.

Franklin was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 4th round of the 1974 MLB draft. He made his major league debut with the Cubs in 1979. He was known for his speed and defensive abilities.

During his career, Franklin played for the Chicago Cubs (1979-1982), San Francisco Giants (1982-1984), Philadelphia Phillies (1984-1985), and Cleveland Indians (1986). While he didn't achieve major star status, he was a valuable role player and utility infielder for the teams he played on.

Following his playing career, Franklin has remained involved in baseball, often working as a coach.
