Tuckton

Tuckton is a suburb of Bournemouth, Dorset, England, located approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Bournemouth town centre. Situated on the eastern bank of the River Stour, near its confluence with the River Avon, Tuckton historically formed part of the parish of Christchurch.

The area is primarily residential, consisting of a mix of housing types. A key feature of Tuckton is Tuckton Bridge, a road bridge crossing the River Stour, providing a vital link between Tuckton and Iford, and points further east.

Historically, Tuckton was a small, relatively rural area. Its growth accelerated in the 20th century as Bournemouth expanded eastward.

Tuckton Tea Gardens, a popular attraction for many years, were located on the banks of the River Stour. While the original tea gardens are no longer present, the area retains a riverside recreational appeal. The Stour Valley Way, a long-distance footpath, passes through Tuckton, offering walking and cycling opportunities along the river.
