Little Women (2022 TV series)

Little Women is a South Korean mystery thriller television series directed by Kim Hee-won and written by Jung Seo-kyung. Inspired by Louisa May Alcott's classic novel of the same name, the series offers a loose adaptation, transposing the narrative to a contemporary setting in South Korea.

The series revolves around three impoverished sisters: Oh In-joo, Oh In-kyung, and Oh In-hye. Oh In-joo, the eldest, becomes embroiled in a conspiracy involving a missing ₩70 billion (approximately $58 million USD) belonging to a deceased co-worker. Oh In-kyung, a passionate and principled reporter, struggles with alcoholism while investigating a decades-old case involving a powerful and corrupt family. Oh In-hye, the youngest sister and a gifted artist, feels stifled by her family's poverty and seeks independence.

The plot unfolds as the sisters navigate a web of power, greed, and deception, uncovering dark secrets and fighting for survival against formidable adversaries. Key themes explored in the series include social inequality, family bonds, and the corrupting influence of wealth and power.

The series premiered on tvN in South Korea and on Netflix internationally in September 2022. It stars Kim Go-eun as Oh In-joo, Nam Ji-hyun as Oh In-kyung, and Park Ji-hu as Oh In-hye. Other prominent cast members include Wi Ha-joon, Uhm Ji-won, and Uhm Ki-joon. The series received critical acclaim for its suspenseful plot, strong performances, and visually stunning direction.
