Longmen (mythology)

Longmen, also translated as Dragon Gate, is a mythical location in Chinese mythology, particularly prominent in folklore and legends associated with carp. It represents a significant trial and a symbol of ambition, perseverance, and success.

The most famous legend surrounding Longmen involves carp swimming upstream the Yellow River. According to the tale, any carp brave and persistent enough to leap over the Dragon Gate will transform into a dragon.
