Queens (Nova Scotia federal electoral district)
Queens was a federal electoral district in Nova Scotia, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons from 1867 to 1968.
Created in 1867 as one of the original ridings for Confederation, it was defined as comprising the County of Queens.
Throughout its history, the riding underwent minor boundary adjustments to reflect population changes and municipal boundaries.
It was abolished in 1966 when it was merged into the South Shore riding.
The electoral district primarily encompassed the southwestern portion of Nova Scotia. The economy of the area was largely based on fishing, forestry, and agriculture.
Notable Members of Parliament who represented Queens included Simeon H. Holmes (Conservative/Liberal-Conservative) and Joseph H. Cook (Liberal).
