Line 4 (Mumbai Metro)
Line 4 of the Mumbai Metro, also known as the Green Line, is an under-construction elevated metro line in Mumbai, India. It is being developed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). The line is planned to run from Wadala to Kasarvadavali, traversing a north-south axis of the city and its extended suburbs.
The purpose of Line 4 is to improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in the city, particularly in the eastern corridor. It aims to provide a faster and more efficient mode of transportation for commuters traveling between Wadala and Thane via the Eastern Express Highway.
The route alignment includes several stations, connecting key residential, commercial, and industrial areas. The construction has been implemented in phases, with varying expected completion dates for different sections of the line. The integration with other metro lines, suburban rail networks, and bus services is a key consideration for improving overall public transportation access.
