Lincoln Academy (Kings Mountain, North Carolina)

Lincoln Academy was a historic African American school located in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Established in 1882 by the American Missionary Association (AMA), it served as a vital educational institution for Black students in the post-Reconstruction era. The Academy offered a range of courses, from primary education to teacher training and industrial education.

The school's mission was to provide a well-rounded education that emphasized academic excellence, character development, and practical skills. It aimed to prepare its students for leadership roles in their communities and contribute to the advancement of African Americans in the South.
