Liberal Progressive Party (Eritrea)
The Liberal Progressive Party (LPP) was a political party in Eritrea. Its history is somewhat obscure, with limited publicly available information. It is believed to have been active during the period leading up to and immediately following Eritrean independence in 1993, likely participating in the political landscape as the country transitioned to self-governance. However, details regarding its platform, leadership, and electoral performance are scarce. Given the eventual dominance of the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ) and the subsequent establishment of a one-party state, the LPP, like many other political entities in Eritrea, ceased to function independently. The political activities of groups outside the ruling PFDJ are severely restricted, and there is no evidence to suggest the LPP currently operates openly or legally within Eritrea.
